CAVE CREEK, AZ, Sep 16, 2010 - Celeritive Technologies, Inc., an independent, third-party developer of innovative high-speed machining technologies that increase machine shop productivity, announces that it has entered into an agreement with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) to develop a 5-axis version of the ultra-high-performance toolpath software VoluMill™ for complex aerospace industry airframe parts.
Celeritive will extend its industry-leading 2- and 3-axis constant-volume toolpath technology into the world of simultaneous 5-axis rough milling. This will enable manufacturers of airframe components to dramatically reduce cycle times and significantly extend cutting tool life while utilizing the full capabilities of their sophisticated machine tools at all times, regardless of which CAM system they use.

Under terms of the agreement, CCAT will provide funds for the project, and coordinate and conduct beta testing of the new software. Celeritive will perform all R&D and project management tasks throughout all phases of the project, including quality assurance and testing oversight.
